* remove libpod from mainbaude2019-06-25
| | | | | | | | | | | | | the compilation demands of having libpod in main is a burden for the remote client compilations. to combat this, we should move the use of libpod structs, vars, constants, and functions into the adapter code where it will only be compiled by the local client. this should result in cleaner code organization and smaller binaries. it should also help if we ever need to compile the remote client on non-Linux operating systems natively (not cross-compiled). * Fix segfaults attribute to missing optionsbaude2019-04-15
| | | | | | | | | In cases where the remote client culls options to a command, we need to be sure that the lookup for that flag does not result in a nil pointer. To do so, we add a Remote attribute to the podman struct and then cli helper funcs are now aware they are remote. Signed-off-by: baude <bbaude@redhat.com>

* rootless: remove SkipStorageSetup()Giuseppe Scrivano2019-04-01
| | | | | | | | in the few places where we care about skipping the storage initialization, we can simply use the process effective UID, instead of relying on a global boolean flag. Signed-off-by: Giuseppe Scrivano <gscrivan@redhat.com>

* hide --latest on the remote-clientbaude2019-02-22
| | | | | | | | in the case of the remote-client, it was decided to hide the latest flag to avoid confusion for end-users on what the "last" container, volume, or pod are. Signed-off-by: baude <bbaude@redhat.com>

* Don't show global flags except for podman commandDaniel J Walsh2019-02-12
| | | | | | | | | Subcommands should not be showing the global flags. This causes the important information to scroll off the screen. Also fixed a typo on runCommmand (Too many 'm's) Signed-off-by: Daniel J Walsh <dwalsh@redhat.com>
* Separate remote and local commandsbaude2019-02-11
| | | | | | | | In the previous CLI, we had an accurate depiction of commands available for the remote client and those available for the local client. Signed-off-by: baude <bbaude@redhat.com>
* Migrate to cobra CLIbaude2019-02-08
| | | | | | | | We intend to migrate to the cobra cli from urfave/cli because the project is more well maintained. There are also some technical reasons as well which extend into our remote client work. Signed-off-by: baude <bbaude@redhat.com>
* Capatilize all usage and descriptionsDaniel J Walsh2019-02-05
| | | | | | | | | We have no consistancy in out option usages and descritions on whether or not the first letter should be capatalized. This patch forces them all to be capatilized. Signed-off-by: Daniel J Walsh <dwalsh@redhat.com>

* rm -f now removes a paused containerbaude2018-11-08
| | | | | | | | | | | | We now can remove a paused container by sending it a kill signal while it is paused. We then unpause the container and it is immediately killed. Also, reworked how the parallelWorker results are handled to provide a more consistent approach to how each subcommand implements it. It also fixes a bug where if one container errors, the error message is duplicated when printed out. Signed-off-by: baude <bbaude@redhat.com>
* Make kill, pause, and unpause parallel.baude2018-11-01
| | | | | | | | | | | Operations like kill, pause, and unpause -- which can operation on one or more containers -- can greatly benefit from parallizing its main job (eq kill). In the case of pauseand unpause, an --all option as was added. pause --all will pause all **running** containers. And unpause --all will unpause all **paused** containers. Signed-off-by: baude <bbaude@redhat.com>
* Add --max-workers and heuristics for parallel operationsbaude2018-10-25
| | | | | | | | | | add a global flag for --max-workers so users can limit the number of parallel operations for a given function. also, when not limited by max-workers, we implement a heuristic function that returns the number of preferred parallel workers based on the number of CPUs and the given operation. Signed-off-by: baude <bbaude@redhat.com>
* Use the newly added getAllOrLatestContainers() functionAdrian Reber2018-10-23
| | | | | | | This removes duplicate code paths which has been previously factored out as getAllOrLatestContainers(). Signed-off-by: Adrian Reber <areber@redhat.com>
* Use the new checkAllAndLatest() functionAdrian Reber2018-10-23
| | | | | | | Instead of duplicating the same code in multiple commands this uses the newly added function checkAllAndLatest() instead. Signed-off-by: Adrian Reber <areber@redhat.com>

* | Stop containers in parallel fashionbaude2018-10-11
|/ | | | | | | | | Prior, we were stopping containers serially. So if a container had a default timeout of 10 seconds and there were five containers being stopped, the operation would take roughly 50 seconds. If we stop these containers in parallel, the operation should be roughly 10 seconds and change which is a significant speed up at scale. Signed-off-by: baude <bbaude@redhat.com>
* don't print help message for usage errorsValentin Rothberg2018-08-31
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Don't print potentially verbose help messages in case of usage errors, but print only the usage error followed by a pointer to the command's help. This aligns with Docker. ``` $ podman run -h flag needs an argument: -h See 'podman run --help'. ``` Signed-off-by: Valentin Rothberg <vrothberg@suse.com> Closes: #1379 Approved by: rhatdan

* varlink imagesbaude2018-04-26
| | | | | | | | | | | | | implement varlink image functions for working with libpod with the exception of a couple due to incompletions on the libpod side of things (build). also, created a first pass at a libpodpy package which will stand as a client to working with libpod's varlink methods using python. * Shortcut for most recent containerbaude2018-01-08
| | | | | | | | | | | | It is desirable to have a shortcut for the most recently created container. We can now use "**latest" to represent the most recent container instead of its container ID or name. For example: Signed-off-by: baude <bbaude@redhat.com> Closes: #179 Approved by: baude
* Plumb through the --stop-timeout signal handlingDaniel J Walsh2017-12-20
| | | | | | | | | | | | | podman run/create have the ability to set the stop timeout flag. We need to stop it in the database. Also Allowing negative time for stop timeout makes no sense, so switching to timeout of uint, allows user to specify huge timeout values.
