<p><strong>WebP </strong>ist ein von Google entwickeltes Grafikformat mit verlustfreier oder verlustbehafteter Komprimierung. Der Programmcode von WebP ist quelloffen und soll als offener Standard eine moderne Alternative vor allem zum {{Glossary("JPEG")}}-Format darstellen, kann aber auch als Ersatz für {{Glossary("PNG")}}- oder (animierte) {{Glossary("GIF")}}-Dateien genutzt werden.</p>
