* Fix machine starting stateAshley Cui2022-09-23
| | | | | | | | Machine starting now is correctly displayed on podman machine list --format json [NO NEW TESTS NEEDED] Signed-off-by: Ashley Cui <acui@redhat.com>
* podman machine ls: use report.Formatter over TemplatePaul Holzinger2022-09-13
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Currently the podman command --format output code uses a mix of report.Formatter and report.Template. I patched report.Formatter to correctly handle newlines[1]. Since we cannot fix this with report.Template we have to migrate all users to report.Formatter. This ensures consistent behavior for all commands. This change does not change the output, we can add a new test for the newline bug when the common PR is vendored in. * pkg/machine/e2e: do not import from cmd/podmanPaul Holzinger2022-07-07
| | | | | | | | | | | It should be avoided to import cmd/podman/... packages from outside of cmd/podman. This can lead in weird hard to debug import paths but also can have negative consequences when imported in unit tests. In this case it will set XDG_CONFIG_HOME and thus the machine tests this dir over the tmp HOME env variable which is set at a later point. This caused machine files to be leaked into the actual users home dir. Signed-off-by: Paul Holzinger <pholzing@redhat.com>
* cmd/podman: switch to golang native error wrappingSascha Grunert2022-06-30
| | | | | | | We now use the golang error wrapping format specifier `%w` instead of the deprecated github.com/pkg/errors package. Signed-off-by: Sascha Grunert <sgrunert@redhat.com>

|\ | | | | Only allow Rootless runs of Podman Machine
| * Only allow Rootless runs of Podman MachineAshley Cui2022-06-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Podman Machine crashes if run as root. When creating the machine, we write the ignition so that the UID of the core user matches the UID of the user on the host. We by default, create the root user on the machine with UID 0. If the user on the host is root, the core UID and the Root UID collide, causing a the VM not to boot. * | Fix machine list: --format implies --noheadingBoaz Shuster2022-06-23
|/ | | | | | | | | It seems like previously if --format was changed then listFlag.noHeading is changed accordingly however printHeader is used to determine whether to print header or not. This patch fixes that problem. Signed-off-by: Boaz Shuster <boaz.shuster.github@gmail.com>
* Introduce 'Starting' status for machinesShane Smith2022-06-09
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | - The State() function now returns machine.Starting status instead of an empty string if the VM is in the process of starting. - The `CheckExclusiveActiveVM()` function returns `true` to prevent starting a VM while another is in the process of starting. - `podman machine ls` displays "Currently starting" under "Last Up" for the starting VM - `podman machine ls` supports `{{.Starting}}` boolean field in the format - `podman machine inspect` displays "starting" in the "State" field for the starting VM Signed-off-by: Shane Smith <shane.smith@shopify.com>

* shell completion --format: use structs by referencePaul Holzinger2022-04-28
| | | | | | | | | | | | For the AutocompleteFormat function we expect the correct template struct which is used in the golang template. The function can handle both struct and pointer to a struct. Using the reference is more efficient since it doe snot have to copy the whole struct. Also change some structs to use he actual type from the template instead of some nested one to make sure it has to correct fields. Signed-off-by: Paul Holzinger <pholzing@redhat.com>
* Add --quiet to machine lsBrent Baude2022-04-16
| | | | | | | | | | | | | The podman machine ls command would benefit from a --quiet flag which would only print the machine names without the extra information. It also implies --noheader as well. This can be helpful for scripting with the podman cli. Signed-off-by: Brent Baude <bbaude@redhat.com> [NO NEW TESTS NEEDED] Signed-off-by: Brent Baude <bbaude@redhat.com>

* Scrub podman commands to use report packageJhon Honce2021-06-16
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Refactor podman commands that have drifted from using c/common report pkg. Report pkg is needed to implement go template functions. Removed obsolete code from podman which exists in c/common. Latest template library added default newlines and method to remove them. Incorporated needed changes in c/common PR below. Depends on https://github.com/containers/common/pull/624 Fixes https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1855983 Signed-off-by: Jhon Honce <jhonce@redhat.com>
* [Techinal Debt] Cleanup ABI vs. Tunnel CLI commandsJhon Honce2021-05-27
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | [NO TESTS NEEDED] This commit cleans up two issues: * Most commands support all EngineModes so default to that. Let outlayers declare their intent. * Use cobra.Annotations to set supported EngineMode. This simplies instantiating commands as there is now one method to communicate a commands requirements rather than two. * Combined aliased commands into one file * Fixed aliased commands where Args field did not match * Updated examples in README.md for writing commands * Remove redundant flag DisableFlagsInUseLine in cobra.Command initialization.
